AMARIS CASE STUDIES

BEYOND TESTIMONIALS

Project Details:

Calacatta Portugal marble worktops, bespoke sink and floating shelf.


To design, manufacture and fit Calacatta Portugal marble kitchen worktops, bespoke sink and floating shelf. 


CHALLENGES:

  • Design a concealed steel bracket to carry a heavy marble shelf so it appears to be floating.  
  • Manufacture a bespoke marble Belfast sink matching the worktop with fluted front.  
  • Limited material (the only 2 slabs left in the world !!).


SOLUTIONS:

  • Floating shelf: After a lot of thought and design we came up with system, so the steel was recessed into the wall, a marble splashback was that placed over the steel work, the marble floating shelf was fitted on top and a piece was then glued to the underside so it has the appearance of a floating shelf. 
  • Bespoke marble Belfast Sink: Now this was a real challenge we had to manufacture a marble sink from 5 separate pieces to withstand daily use. The client also wanted a fluted look to the front of the sink. This was cnc machined then finished by hand, for strength and maximum bonding area we opted to mitre each edge of each piece, we then meticulously fitted each piece together. The result was absolutely stunning and our clients where so pleased with the result and the look was exactly what they wanted. 


END RESULT: 

The finished transformation was a sophisticated and timeless living space that delighted the client.

Project Details:

An 8-seater quartz dining table.


To design and manufacture an 8-seater dining table to compliment the kitchens quartz worktop/ island design. 


challenges:

  • Our customer wanted a large table to sit 8 people.  
  • Her chairs had to be able to fit nicely under the table.  
  • Budget was a factor so we needed to come up with a design that would enable us to cut all pieces from 1 slab with very little waste.  
  • The design of the base plinths had to be safe and stable as they would be bearing the weight of a large slab.  


solutions:

  • After a lot of thought and drawing we opted for a V shape design for the base plinths this design was very strong, stable and used minimum amount of material.
  • We then calculated the size of the base plinths so our customer had generous leg room and chair storage.


end result:

The result was an absolutely stunning table that sat perfectly in the surroundings of our customer's beautiful home.  

Hotel

Project Details:

Carrara marble commercial bar top.


To manufacture a 90mm thick triple bullnose bar top and lift 15 stories in the heart of Cambridge.


CHALLENGES:

  • Creating a 90mm triple bullnose edge. 
  • Logistics of lifting heavy sections with a street crane in the heart of Cambridge. 


SOLUTIONS:

  • Each section of bullnose edging was CNC machined, meticulously glued together and hand finished so each section matched perfectly. 
  • We constructed a wooden platform to sit the heavy sections on, straps where attached to each corner and a guide rope was attached, the platform was then slowly lifted up 15 stories and carefully positioned for unloading, 3 lifts where required.  


END RESULT:

The result was an absolutely stunning and very luxurious bar perfectly suited to the high end hotel surroundings. We delivered on time and our client was delighted with the end result.
